Anchor 1
A timber framed, stone faced house for a young couple up on the Mendips. The site for the house was a redundant farm yard with a collection of modern and traditional buildings. All of the flimsy buildings were cleared away leaving two small stone buildings which will be converted over the next few years.

Traditional materials and detailing were combined with a lean-to zinc roof and an open plan living area which opens out onto a series of small courtyards created by the house and the out buildings. It is a simple house but the quality of the workmanship that has gone in to it lifts it above the ordinary.
