A tired, down at heel bed and breakfast in Bristol has been turned into an award winning boutique hotel. The original Victorian town house was built on the edge of a former quarry looking out over the city. There was little of any architectural note in the building and it was stripped back to its bare structure.

Two suites and eight bedrooms were created with the reception, sitting and eating areas on the ground floor. All of the rooms have been panelled to give a homely feel to the hotel in marked contrast to others in the city.

The hotel has proved to be very successful and has recently expanded into the house next door which has provided two new guest suites, a meeting room and a duplex flat for the hotel manager.
